Consequently survival rate is extremely low! This example has all the early original, fully machined type parts. Any original unaltered Remington M1903 are almost impossible to find on the collector market today as many were shipped to Great Britain and on to New Zealand via the Lend-Lease program, some were provided to the USMC heading to the Far East with some later ones issued to the Army. Originally there were three versions of the Remington M1903 rifle variation one looked like the original M1903 manufactured by Rock Island Arsenal, the second variation was a slightly modified 1903, which showed the wartime/expedient manufacturing shortcuts suggested by Remington and the last which had numerous wartime shortcuts, that evolved into the M1903A3. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, production was redirected back to the U.S for its own wartime use. These 1903s were originally manufactured for England under the Lend Lease Program starting in May 1941 using the old RIA tooling and machinery.
That's right this is the very first Model 1903 rifle ever produced by the Remington Arms Company in 1941, right at the start of WWII. This is an absolutely rare one-of-a-kind ultimate Remington Arms Model 1903 collectors rifle serial number '3000000'.
